Could Kpop supergroup BTS’ world tour screenings reach Vietnam cinemas?

The website BTS Live Viewing recently listed Vietnam among countries with cinemas expected to screen the tour on April 11, 12 and 18, alongside more than 3,500 theaters across 75 countries and territories.

On Monday, Galaxy Cinema posted a teaser on Facebook featuring the phrase 'What is your love song' and a purple heart, a symbol widely associated with BTS, prompting speculation about potential screenings in Vietnam.

The screenings would coincide with concerts scheduled in Goyang on April 11 and 12 and Tokyo on April 18, which are set to be broadcast live to global cinemas.

Each screening is expected to run about three hours and feature a 360-degree stage presentation designed to replicate a live concert experience for audiences.

BTS is currently promoting its ‘Arirang’ album released on March 20 that their record label said sold nearly four million copies in its first day, ahead of a global tour that starts next month, billed as the biggest in Kpop history.

They recently held a concert at Gwanghwamun Square that drew more than 40,000 attendees, Yonhap News Agency reported, citing city government estimates.

International media have reviewed the group’s return positively, highlighting its musical direction and large-scale comeback after a multi-year hiatus to fulfill mandatory military service.

Fans in Vietnam have reacted strongly online to the possibility of local screenings, though details on participating cinemas and ticket sales have not been announced.
