According to CPF's financial report, it recorded total global revenue of 291.77 billion baht (US$9 billion) in the second quarter of the year, with a net profit of 18.92 billion baht ($583 million).
Vietnam remained CPF's second-largest market after Thailand, generating 26.17 billion baht ($807 million) between April and June.
However, this figure marked a sharp 21-percent year-on-year decrease, making Vietnam the only country among CPF's major markets to register a decline.
In contrast, revenue in Thailand and China rose during the same period.
During the first half of 2025, C.P. Vietnam posted a total revenue of 53.8 billion baht ($1.7 billion), reflecting a 15-percent year-on-year drop.
CPF has not officially commented on the causes of this decline, but several contributing factors are being speculated.
One notable factor was the strengthening of the Thai baht against the Vietnamese dong, with an increase of nine percent from the beginning of the year to the end of June.
In addition, a public controversy involving C.P. Vietnam erupted in May when a man identified as L.Q.N. alleged via social media that one of the company's outlets was selling diseased pork and chicken.
The claims sparked public concerns over food safety and drew attention from local authorities.
The investigation police agency under the Department of Public Security of former Soc Trang Province, which is now part of Can Tho City after a merger that took effect on July 1, also received a formal complaint based on these allegations.
In July, police decided not to pursue criminal charges after a probe.
Investigators stated that the company did not commit acts constituting a criminal offense under the relevant article of the Criminal Procedure Code, which governs food safety violations.
Following the decision, C.P. Vietnam reiterated its commitment to transparency, legal compliance, and food safety across its operations.
Meanwhile, the individual who made the accusations has recently been summoned for questioning.
Authorities are now investigating whether he may have violated laws related to abusing democratic freedoms to infringe upon the interests of C.P. Vietnam.
