A screenshot from a video shows a taxi driver lowering the window on the driver’s side, resting his foot on it while driving in Da Lat City in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong.
The video shows the driver operating the vehicle from the Kim Cuc roundabout heading toward Tran Quoc Toan Street near Xuan Huong Lake in Da Lat City.
At the time, the area was crowded with vehicles, and traffic was moving slowly.
A representative of LADO Company, headquartered in Da Lat City, confirmed that the person who lowered the window and rested his foot while driving was a contract driver for the company, identified as Hoang Van T., 52.
“We summoned him for a meeting and will issue a dismissal decision,” the LADO taxi company representative said.
According to the same representative, the driver lowered the window, placed his foot on it, and drove while not carrying passengers.
However, this was an inappropriate action that posed a danger and showed a disregard for the lives of other road users.
A representative of the taxi company said it would give the electric taxi driver the sack.
