Data from the platform, managed by the Ministry of Science and Technology, showed Da Nang’s average mobile download speed in May was just 125.59 Mbps, down sharply from 272.97 Mbps in April.
Despite the dip, the city led the nation in fixed broadband speed, clocking in at 469.44 Mbps.
Nationwide, mobile speeds continued their upward trend, reflecting the impact of Vietnam’s expanding digital infrastructure.

In May, the country’s average mobile download speed reached 76.86 Mbps, with upload speeds at 26.98 Mbps—up from March figures of 65.9 Mbps and 23.5 Mbps, respectively.
However, the May data showed a minor decline from April’s averages of 77.1 Mbps download and 27.37 Mbps upload.
For 5G services, the nationwide average download speed dipped slightly to 347.22 Mbps, with uploads at 85.53 Mbps.

Viettel remained the fastest 5G provider, recording 366.29 Mbps download and 87.11 Mbps upload, ahead of VNPT and MobiFone.
Hanoi, Hai Phong, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, and Can Tho ranked as the five cities with the fastest mobile networks in Vietnam.
Though Da Nang experienced a mobile speed drop, it held the top spot for fixed broadband, with an average download speed of 316.75 Mbps.

National fixed broadband speeds also surged in May, reaching an average download rate of 187.43 Mbps and an upload rate of 137.03 Mbps—the highest in the past year.
That is a significant jump from May 2023, when average speeds were 100.96 Mbps download and 102.39 Mbps upload.

VNPT led the fixed broadband rankings with speeds of 211.35 Mbps download and 153.36 Mbps upload, followed by Viettel at 203.62 Mbps and 155.96 Mbps.
CMC Telecom took third place, ahead of FPT Telecom, SCTV, and NETNAM.
