The Da Nang Museum said on Monday that the new fee range would apply to the Da Nang Museum of Fine Arts and the Da Nang Museum - Branch 2 from June 10.
Admission to the Da Nang Museum of Fine Arts on Le Duan Street in Hai Chau Ward will be set at VND40,000 (US$1.52) per visit.
Residents of Da Nang, as well as students enrolled in universities, junior colleges, and vocational education institutions, will pay a reduced rate of VND20,000 ($0.76).
Free admission will be granted to people with disabilities, beneficiaries of cultural welfare policies, children under 16, school students, people aged 60 and above, and diplomatic visitors.
At the second facility of the Da Nang Museum on Phan Boi Chau Street in Ban Thach Ward, the standard admission fee will be VND20,000 per visit, while Da Nang residents and eligible students will pay VND10,000 ($0.38).
The same categories of the above-listed visitors will be exempt from admission fees.
Admission fees at the main Da Nang Museum on Tran Phu Street in Hai Chau Ward will remain unchanged at VND50,000 ($1.9) per visit for both Vietnamese and foreign visitors, except for groups eligible for exemptions or alternative rates under existing regulations.
Da Nang residents and eligible students will continue to pay VND20,000 per visit.
Since the beginning of the year, authorities have issued a series of resolutions regulating admission fees at museums, historical sites, and cultural facilities in areas formerly belonging to Quang Nam Province, which was amalgamated into Da Nang in July last year.
Specifically, in the ancient town of Hoi An, admission fees range from VND20,000 to VND30,000 ($1.14) per site.
At My Son Sanctuary, visitors are charged VND40,000 per visit.
Fees at the ancient Cham tower complexes of Bang An Tower in An Thang Ward, Chien Dan Tower in Tay Ho Commune, and Khuong My tower cluster in Tam Xuan Commune range from VND10,000-20,000 per visit, while the Sa Huynh-Champa Culture Museum in Duy Xuyen Commune charges VND20,000 per visit.
