The current Da Nang City is the result of a merger of the former Da Nang City and neighboring Quang Nam Province, effective from July 1.

Hoang Cong Thanh, chairman of the An Hai Ward People's Committee, on Tuesday signed an administrative penalty decision against Nguyen Thi Thuy, a 57-year-old resident in Thanh Khe Ward, Da Nang.

Thuy was fined for failing to list product prices at locations where price listing is legally required.

The decision stated that Thuy must comply with the penalty.

If she fails to do so within the specified time frame, enforcement measures will be taken in accordance with regulations.

For each day the fine is paid late, she must pay an additional 0.05 percent calculated on the total fine amount.

At 7:00 pm on July 13, a group of six Lao tourists had a late-night meal on the sidewalk of Duong Dinh Nghe Street in Da Nang.

Their order included four octopus skewers, two okra skewers, one portion of chicken feet, and three sausages. The total bill was VND760,000.

Toward the end of the meal, one of the tourists questioned the price and showed the bill to a Vietnamese tour guide accompanying the group.

Upset by the overcharging, the tour guide confronted the vendor, who then refunded VND200,000 ($7.7) to the Lao tourists.

The guide later published a post on the incident on social media.
