Ho Quang Buu, vice-chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee, on Wednesday approved a plan to install, hand over, and put Starlink satellite terminals and telecommunications services into operation to improve connectivity in areas with poor network coverage.
The installation is scheduled to take place from September 21 to 30.
The program will cover four villages and 10 school sites in remote mountainous areas of the former Quang Nam Province, which are now part of Da Nang following Vietnam’s nationwide administrative merger in July last year.
The rollout involves five steps, including site surveys, equipment installation and connection, technical inspection, handover with service contracts, and post-installation support.
Commune-level administrations will manage devices in villages, while principals or heads of schools will oversee equipment at educational sites.
Local administrations in communes including A Vuong, La Dee, Phuoc Thanh, Tra Van, Tra Tan, and Tra Giap must provide official documentation of representatives before installation to complete contracts.
