Nearly six months after breaking ground, the Can Gio sea reclamation tourism urban area project-Vinhomes Green Paradise by Vietnam's largest private conglomerate Vingroup has transformed into a massive sand-filling construction site, with hundreds of vessels operating around the clock.

Vingroup broke ground on the Can Gio sea reclamation tourism urban area project on April 19, 2025.

The project covers 2,870 hectares and requires an estimated total investment exceeding VND217 trillion (US$8.5 billion).

It has been in planning for years, and in early 2024, city authorities approved its detailed zoning plan.

Its development is expected to take 11 years, with an operational period of 50 years.

The urban area is projected to accommodate up to 228,560 residents and attract approximately 8.9 million tourists annually.
