In recent days, social media has been abuzz with a series of photos capturing an 'oasis' in Hoa Xuan Commune, Dak Lak Province, Vietnam, taken by photographer Huynh Le Vien Duy.
A keen explorer of new destinations, Duy, 45, discovered Phuoc Giang Hamlet by chance while using a drone.
From above, the small hamlet with its bright red-tiled roofs, nestled among aquaculture ponds, looks like a striking painting.

When the photos capturing the place were shared on social media, they quickly drew widespread attention and admiration.
“I enjoy traveling across the province to find new photo angles, but discovering Phuoc Giang was completely different,” Duy said.
“While searching for potential photography spots on Google Maps, I happened to see the village, isolated in the lower reaches of the Ban Thach River, forming a unique ‘oasis.’
“That image urged me to visit in person to capture its distinctive beauty.”
And Duy was captivated upon arriving.

Shooting with a drone at dawn gave him a unique perspective on the hamlet’s peaceful and simple beauty from above, completely separated from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
“What I enjoyed most was capturing the early morning moment, when the light was still very faint and the entire village seemed to be peacefully asleep,” Duy said.
Truong Thi Kim Thoa, head of Phuoc Giang Hamlet, said the locale has about 118 households, with most residents raising shrimp.
The place has only one main road, and during the rainy season, Phuoc Giang often becomes an 'island,' with people traveling exclusively by boat.
“This hamlet has been around for a long time. Although life can still be tough, everyone cherishes the close-knit, supportive community,” Thoa said.
