Nearly 400 Vietnamese lose over $6mn in Cambodia-based fake police scam

Police in Cao Bang Province, northern Vietnam said on Monday they recently dismantled a transnational cybercrime ring that posed as police officers, tricked victims into installing fake VNeID apps embedded with malware, and stole over VND160 billion (US$6 million) from nearly 400 people nationwide.
