Falling tree narrowly misses man in Ho Chi Minh City

A male motorcyclist narrowly escaped from a falling treetop on a street in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 10 on Monday morning.

The man was riding his motorcycle on Le Hong Phong Street in District 10 at 10:45 am when he noticed the top of a tree on one side of the street cracking and falling down, so he jumped off of his bike and ran away.

After his escape, the treetop fell, crushing his bike and a moving car. 

The car driver and the two passengers on board were reportedly unhurt, but the car and the bike were damaged by the fallen treetop.

It was about to rain and there were strong winds when the treetop fell, said an eyewitness.

After being notified of the incident, some traffic police officers were dispatched to the scene to cordon it off and regulate the traffic flow.

Employees of the city’s green tree park company quickly arrived at the site to clean.
