Fire at central Hanoi home prompts temporary street closures

The fire was reported around 9:00 am at a three-story house at No. 14 Hang Ma Street in Hoan Kiem Ward, with smoke seen rising from the upper floors, according to witnesses. 

Two people inside escaped, and one person was treated by medical workers after slipping while evacuating, police said.

Hanoi police deployed multiple fire engines and rescue teams to extinguish the fire, which was largely contained by about 10:00 am, though smoke continued to billow as crews cooled the building. 

Authorities are investigating the cause.
