The Fire Prevention and Rescue Division of the Ho Chi Minh City police said it deployed a specialized vehicle and 20 officers to the scene after receiving emergency calls about severe flooding that had isolated residents.
Floodwaters reached nearly two meters in some areas, making rescue efforts difficult.
All trapped residents, including children and elderly people, were safely evacuated.
Heavy rain late Wednesday and into Thursday caused localized flooding in parts of Ben Cat Ward, an area formerly belonging to the old Binh Duong Province.

Earlier this year, on May 10, prolonged rainfall also caused severe flooding in then-Ben Cat City, damaging homes and collapsing a 30-meter factory wall.
The old Binh Duong Province was merged into Ho Chi Minh City on July 1 as part of an administrative reform that turned all district-level cities, including Ben Cat, into wards of the expanded metropolis.
