Fireworks light up Vinhomes Green Paradise Can Gio in Ho Chi Minh City to open spring fest

The event drew more than 10,000 residents and visitors.

Although the fireworks were scheduled to begin at 8:00 pm, crowds began arriving from the afternoon to secure prime viewing spots.

The display was believed to be the earliest Lunar New Year fireworks event ever held in Can Gio.

Lasting just five minutes, the show nevertheless left a strong emotional impression, igniting hopes for a smooth and prosperous year ahead.

Tran Thi Thuy Trang, a resident of Can Gio, said the event was a shared joy for the community.

“This is the first time that people in Can Gio can enjoy such a grand Tet festival right in our hometown," she said.

“The fireworks feel like the opening of a new opportunity for Can Gio to grow and shine."

Another local, Truong Thanh Tin, shared that this year’s celebration was particularly meaningful.

“My friends and I are thrilled to welcome the Year of the Horse with such a colorful, joyful, large-scale and safe celebration right here, without having to travel far,” he said.

Social media buzzed with excitement as festival-goers posted comments such as ‘Didn’t expect it to be crowded, but it was unbelievably packed,’ ‘Come to Vinhomes Green Paradise Can Gio to celebrate Tet, it’s spectacular,’ and ‘The sky above Vinhomes Green Paradise Can Gio is filled with hot-air balloons.’

The Can Gio Spring Festival features a wide range of activities, including a spring flower festival, a hot-air balloon festival, paragliding performances, a three-region culinary fair, and check-in areas along a road lined with peach blossoms and yellow apricot flowers.

Visitors can also take part in traditional folk games and calligraphy sessions to receive wishes for the new year.

The festival program was divided into four themed weekends, with the first weekend, held on February 7 and 8, focusing on southern Tet traditions.

Visitors were treated to various performances of traditional southern folk music and loto singing, Tet-themed workshops, paragliding experiences, and sea views on hot-air balloons.

The second weekend on February 14 and 15 will highlight central Vietnam’s Tet culture with Cham dance performances, ethnic music bands, lucky money envelope workshops, paragliding, hot-air balloon experiences, and lucky draws at the ‘lucky money tree.’

The third weekend, from February 18 to 22, or the second to sixth days of Tet, will bring northern Vietnam’s spring customs to the festival.

Activities include quan ho (love duet) folk singing, acoustic music performances, flower arrangement and conical hat decoration workshops, calligraphy, fortune casting for the new year, and a special hot-air balloon festival with a paid experience.

Visitors can also take photos with a ‘Turkey in Vietnam’ concept area and enjoy panoramic views of the entire project from the balloons.

The final weekend on February 28, or the 12th day of Tet, is set to conclude the festival with spring acoustic music, plant pot painting workshops, the closing ceremony, prize award presentations, and additional lucky draws.

Can Gio emerges as major tourist destination

The large-scale spring festival, held during the first Tet for residents of Vinhomes Green Paradise Can Gio just 10 months after the project’s groundbreaking, not only marks a meaningful start to the new year but also demonstrates the pioneering vision and infrastructure execution capacity of developer Vinhomes.

This development is helping to reshape Can Gio’s standing on Vietnam’s experiential tourism map.

Vinhomes Green Paradise Can Gio was designed as a vibrant resort, festival, and entertainment complex.

The project’s centerpiece is VinWonders Can Gio, a 122-hectare theme park touted as having the world’s largest number of attractions.

The project also features a dynamic seaside festival square, the Cosmo Bay 24/7 entertainment complex, and the lively K-Village operating day and night.

Paradise Lagoon, spanning more than 800 hectares, offers a unique ‘urban seaside’ experience and connects to the 5,000-seat Blue Wave Theater.

The development also includes nearly 7,000 hotel rooms, Vinmec Can Gio Hospital in collaboration with Cleveland Clinic, the Vin New Horizon retirement city, and the Landmark Harbour international port, opening Can Gio to global visitor flows.

These components underscore the ambition of Vinhomes Green Paradise Can Gio to become a true international mega-destination, providing a powerful boost to Ho Chi Minh City’s economic growth in a new era.
