According to a report from the Hanoi Sewerage and Drainage Company, the capital saw no rain between 4:00 pm on Wednesday and 7:00 am on Thursday.
However, water levels on the Nhue River remained high following intense downpours on Tuesday, leaving several areas still submerged.
Flooded locations included sections of Thang Long Boulevard, Cau Buou Street, Duong Dinh Nghe–Nam Trung Yen area, Phan Van Truong Street, the Resco urban area, Vo Chi Cong Avenue near the UDIC building, and Phu Xa Street.
The drainage company said it had deployed maximum personnel and equipment to flooded sites and was coordinating with authorities to assist residents navigating inundated areas.
The Thanh Liet sluice gate was opened to aid water flow from the Nhue River.
Pump stations across the city, including Yen So, Cau Buou, Dong Bong 1 and 2, Co Nhue, and Da Sy, were operating at full capacity to lower water levels in the system.
Crews also worked overnight to remove debris from collection points and adjust water regulation at retention lakes to support drainage efforts.
