Foreign funds eye investment in Vietnam’s innovation ecosystem

These funds include Mekong Capital, VinaCapital, DBS Bank, Argor Capital, AIHay, ByteRover, Plug and Play, Monk's Hill Ventures, Airwallex and TR Capital, heard a press conference co-organized by the Vietnam National Innovation Center (NIC) under the Ministry of Finance, the Vietnam Private Capital Agency, and Do Ventures in Hanoi on Tuesday.

Scheduled to take place on May 28, VIPC Summit 2026, themed ‘Policy to Capital: Mobilizing Private Capital for Vietnam’s Strategic Industries,’ is expected to attract around 1,500 participants.

They are representatives from ministries, local authorities, international financial institutions, venture capital and private equity funds, global technology corporations, unicorn companies, technology start-ups, and leading innovation experts, Kim Ngoc Thanh Nga, deputy head of NIC, said at the press briefing to introduce the summit.

The summit will open broader capital market access for Vietnam’s development ambitions, particularly in the technology-driven sectors.

During the summit, organizers will release the Vietnam Innovation and Tech Investment Report 2026 along with the Vietnam Private Capital Index.

The report is meant to serve as a key reference source for both domestic and international investors, helping improve market transparency, forecasting capacity, and investor confidence.

According to NIC, this year’s report highlights a strong recovery in Vietnam’s private capital market in 2025, covering both private equity and venture capital investments.

Nga said that delegates at the summit will participate in in-depth discussions on the development of the Vietnam International Financial Center, capital markets for innovation, the national venture capital fund, and resources for strategic technology industries.

Besides, the summit will feature investment matchmaking activities and private meetings between investment funds and Vietnamese technology enterprises.
