The deceased was identified as P.K.K., a 50-year-old South African national.
He checked into a hotel located in An Phu Ward in An Khe Town, around midday on May 24.
Hotel staff assigned him to a room on the third floor.
On May 26, hotel owner L.C.Q. was informed by staff that K. had not left his room or responded to knocks on the door over a two-day period.
When he inspected the third floor, Q. smelt a foul odor coming from the foreigner’s room, so he quickly reported the case to local police.
Police officers in the ward arrived at the scene shortly thereafter.
Upon entering the room, they discovered K.'s lifeless body lying at the foot of the bed, unclothed.
Following an on-site probe and autopsy, the case has been handed over to the Gia Lai Department of Public Security for further investigation.
