Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Bien, head of the waterway police squadron No. 1 under the Traffic Police Division of the provincial Department of Public Security, told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper on Thursday afternoon that the incident occurred at around 2:30 pm the same day.

His team received an emergency alert about a drowning tourist near Bach Dang Park, a popular seaside venue in the province.

Three officers aboard a speedboat quickly approached the scene.

The rescue team promptly reached the struggling swimmer, pulled him from the water, and brought him safely ashore.

The victim was later identified as Denis, a 24-year-old tourist from Moldova.

Denis’s condition has since stabilized following the rescue.

On Thursday, heavy rainfall battered several parts of Khanh Hoa Province, flooding numerous streets.
