The news came as a shock to many, as he remained highly active in both his professional life and on social media.

Born in 1969 in Hanoi, Tien was the youngest son of late Major General Hoang Dan and former National Assembly deputy Nguyen Thi An Vinh.
He joined FPT Corporation in 1993 and spent over 30 years contributing to its growth and success.
He held some leadership roles, including chairman of FPT Software and FPT Telecom, before serving as vice-chairman of FPT University Council, where he oversaw postgraduate education.
Widely respected as a tech expert, business strategist, educator, and public speaker, Tien was also deeply involved in startup mentorship and community-driven innovation.
He had recently garnered public attention with the publication of two books about his father.
One of them, 'Letters to You,' a touching recount of his parents’ love story, sold over 50,000 copies and was named one of the standout books of 2024 by Vietnam’s Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism.
