He underlined that the bilateral relationship has been built on mutual trust and respect.
The two leaders committed to bolstering partnership across politics, diplomacy, defense, trade, investment, maritime economy, development aid, and people-to-people exchange.
Energy cooperation was a key focus, with France offering support for Vietnam’s energy transition under the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP).
They also reached a consensus on collaboration in nuclear energy and training.
The two nations aim to launch flagship joint projects that would serve as new symbols of bilateral cooperation in Vietnam’s next stage of development.
Party chief Lam hinted at elevating science and technology to become a new pillar in bilateral ties, expecting France to support Vietnam in strategic sectors such as aerospace, biotechnology, digital and semiconductor technology, quantum science, and digital economy.
Also, both leaders agreed to consolidate cooperation in areas where France has strong capabilities and Vietnam has significant demand, such as infrastructure, urban transportation, and rail systems.
