Ho Chi Minh City’s publishing delegation attended the 2026 Frankfurt Book Fair in Germany from October 7 to 11, showcasing nearly 100 English-language and bilingual titles promoting Vietnamese culture.

Over the five-day event, the city’s pavilion held meetings with 36 international publishers, publishing groups, rights representatives and authors from various countries and territories, according to organizers.

Discussions focused on buying and selling rights to educational books, literature, children’s books and academic journals.

Notably, several foreign partners and authors expressed interest in bringing their works to Vietnam through the city’s publishing network.

During the final two days, when the fair was open to the general public, the Ho Chi Minh City pavilion welcomed nearly 500 international visitors interested in Vietnamese culture and publications.

Building on its experience at the 2026 Frankfurt Book Fair, Ho Chi Minh City’s publishing sector plans to combine the promotion of Vietnamese publications with showcasing the city’s printing capabilities.

“Directly connecting with the city’s large-scale printing businesses at international book fairs will help propel Ho Chi Minh City toward becoming a regional hub for high-quality printing and publishing production,” said Ngoc Hoi, vice chairman of the Vietnam Publishing Association.
