Visitors, both domestic and international, will be able to enter Lam Kinh National Special Relic free of charge from September 30 to October 3, the Management Board of the Ho Dynasty Citadel Heritage Site and key relic sites in Thanh Hoa said on Monday.
The 2026 Lam Kinh Festival will be held at the Lam Kinh Special National Heritage Site in Lam Son Commune, Thanh Hoa province, from October 1 to 3, according to the Thanh Hoa Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The festival honors national hero Le Loi, the Le kings, military commanders, soldiers and local people who contributed to Vietnam’s history of nation-building and defense. It also aims to celebrate and promote the traditional culture and distinctive heritage of Thanh Hoa.
The opening ceremony and main festivities are scheduled for 7:30 a.m. on October 2 at the Dragon Yard in front of the main palace at Lam Kinh.
The event marks the 608th anniversary of the Lam Son uprising, the 598th anniversary of the coronation of Le Loi as King Le Thai To (1385-1433, r. 1428-1433), and the 593rd anniversary of his death.
The festival is also part of Thanh Hoa’s efforts to promote tourism and introduce Lam Kinh, a key tourist destination in the province, to domestic and international visitors.
One of the festival’s highlights is a series of traditional ceremonies held at sites associated with the Later Le dynasty and the Lam Son uprising.
Before the opening ceremony on October 2, processions carrying palanquins of King Le Thai To and Trung Tuc Vuong Le Lai will travel from their respective temples to the Lam Kinh Palace grounds.
The processions will be carried out by ceremonial and palanquin teams from Lam Son and Kien Tho communes.
