According to officers, 65-year-old Jean-Paul Wisniewski had written to express his gratitude following the swift assistance he received.
Wisniewski reported losing his blue smartphone on February 18, the second day of the Tet festival that lasted from February 14 to 22, while out sightseeing.
Within two hours of his report, a police team traced and retrieved the device before returning it to him.
After recovering his property, the French visitor expressed joy and appreciation for the professionalism, friendliness, and efficiency demonstrated by the local police force.

In his letter, Wisniewski praised the officers’ dedication, adding that such responsible and supportive actions reinforced Vietnam’s image as a safe and welcoming destination for international visitors.
A representative of the ward police said that promptly handling reports related to lost property, whether from residents or tourists, is part of their regular duties to ensure public security and maintain a safe tourism environment.
Positive feedback from citizens and visitors serves as motivation for officers to further improve their sense of responsibility and service quality.
