Accordingly, the late General will be laid to rest at the Vung Chua-Dao Yen area, in Quang Dong commune, Quang Trach District, Quang Binh Province.

This beautiful area is located seven kilometers from the Ngang Pass, which links Quang Binh and Ha Tinh Province.

While still alive, the General expressed his desire to be buried near his childhood home.

Currently, a State funeral is being prepared for Giap by a central funeral committee of 30 members, headed by Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

General Giap’s coffin is being placed at the National Morgue at No. 5, Tran Thanh Tong Street, Hanoi, where mourners can pay tribute to him beginning at 7:30 am on October 12.

A solemn memorial service for the late General will be held at the site at 7:00 am on October 13 and his burial service will be conducted later the same day.
