German pianist Mona Asuka Ott will perform at a one-night concert in Hanoi on June 12.

At the show, the 22-year-old who has been known as a piano genius, will showcase Sonata No.12, op.26 by Beethoven, Nocturne in C sharp minor, Op. 27, No.1 and Nocturne in D major, Op. 27 No. 2 by Chopin, Venice and Naples by Liszt and Four Improvisations, D899 by Schubert.

Mona’s talent for the piano was discovered at the very young age. At the age of 4, she was invited to perform at a festival held at the Munich Royal Residence and then appeared on television 7 years later. When she turned 13, Mona made her orchestral debut at the International Piano Festival of Young Musicians in Lindau.

Mona was awarded at numerous contests around the world. In the Fourth EPTA International Piano Festival 2005 in Osijek, Croatia, she was presented with both First Prize and Special Awards, and was the youngest finalist in the 11th International Piano Academy Competition Hamamatsu, Japan in 2006. Also in that year, she received the Audience Prize at the Bad Kissingen Piano Olympics in Germany.

In 2010, she was on a tour with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra directed by Edo de Waart.
