The changes have drawn attention as the service is widely used for location searches, navigation, and address identification in Vietnam.
In several localities, updated administrative borders are now visible on both the web and mobile versions.
The roll-out has not been formally announced and appears to be occurring quietly, with users noticing the changes during regular use.
However, the updates are not yet consistent nationwide.
In some areas, data may still differ or not fully reflect recent adjustments, suggesting the process is being implemented in stages.
Vietnam underwent an administrative restructuring on July 1, 2025, reducing the number of provincial-level units from 63 to 34, including six centrally-run cities and 28 provinces.
Under the reform, 52 units were consolidated into 23 new ones, while 11 remained unchanged, and the district level of administration was removed as part of a shift to a two-tiered system.
