The Hanoi Urban Transport Management and Operation Center, under the municipal Department of Construction, which is also in charge of transport issues after merging with the Department of Transport, said the line has carried over 6.4 million passengers since it began operation on August 8, 2024.

The service averages between 19,000 and 21,000 riders per day, with more than 7,600 trips completed over the past year.

Train punctuality on the line has remained above 99 percent, while the passenger satisfaction rate exceeded 99.9 percent, according to the center.

The 8.5-km elevated section includes eight stations: Nhon (S1), Minh Khai (S2), Phu Dien (S3), Cau Dien (S4), Le Duc Tho (S5), Vietnam National University (S6), Chua Ha (S7), and Cau Giay (S8).

As part of integration efforts, 36 bus routes have been connected to the metro corridor.

At the Cau Giay interchange, bus capacity was increased to serve more than 6,000 passengers per hour in each direction.

At all eight metro stations, bus stops are located within 50 meters.

Nine bus routes also connect metro line 3 with other planned metro lines.

Metro line 3, officially known as the Nhon–Hanoi Railway Station line, began construction in September 2010 and was originally scheduled for completion in 2016.

The full 12.5-km line includes 8.5 km of elevated track and 4 km of underground sections.

The project's total investment has risen from VND18 trillion (US$686.3 million) to VND34.5 trillion ($1.3 billion).

While the elevated section is in service, the underground segment, including stations from Kim Ma to Hanoi Railway Station, remains under construction.
