A video shared earlier on social media shows the rider weaving through markers set up across two middle lanes of the road.
The high-capacity motorcycle was ridden by the man on Mai Chi Tho Street in Hanoi’s Viet Hung Ward.
Major General Do Thanh Binh, director of the Traffic Police Department, later instructed relevant bodies to inspect and verify the incident in accordance with regulations.
The rider was identified as T.A.C., born in 2001 and residing in Hanoi’s Cua Nam Ward.
During questioning, C. admitted to illegally using part of the roadway for purposes other than traffic without authorization from competent authorities.
Police said the rider presented a valid driver’s license and vehicle registration.
Hanoi traffic police later issued an administrative violation report against C. for “illegally using the roadway for unauthorized purposes” under Clause 12, Article 12 of Decree 168/2024/ND-CP.
The violation carries a fine of VND10-15 million (US$380-570) and a deduction of two points from the 12-point driver’s license.
