On Monday, the Hoan Kiem Ward People’s Committee said it will organize the 2026 Traditional Mid-Autumn Market in Hanoi’s Old Quarter on Hang Ma Street through September 25, giving residents and visitors a chance to shop, explore and experience traditional cultural products.

The market will be held on the section of Hang Ma Street between the intersections with Hang Duong and Hang Cot streets.

Stalls will line both sides of the street, offering children’s toys, Mid-Autumn Festival decorations, traditional handicrafts, mooncakes and other products that reflect Vietnam’s cultural identity.

The Traditional Mid-Autumn Market will be held alongside other Mid-Autumn cultural activities in Hanoi’s Old Quarter, including the 'Luu Trang Pho Co 2026' (Moonlight in the Old Quarter 2026) program at 22 Hang Buom Street, the 'Don Trang' (Welcome the Moon) space at the Heritage House at 87 Ma May Street, and a creative space featuring traditional lion heads at the Ho Guom Cultural Information Center at 2 Le Thai To Street.

During the market, the designated section of Hang Ma Street will be closed to traffic around the clock. Vehicles will be diverted under the traffic management plan.

The Hoan Kiem Ward People’s Committee said bicycle and motorcycle parking areas will be set up on Thuoc Bac Street, part of Hang Ma Street and around the Hang Luoc-Hang Ruoi intersection. A free parking area will also be available on Thuoc Bac Street for residents living on Hang Ma Street.

Organizers will deploy staff to direct residents and visitors to designated parking areas and prevent vehicles from stopping or parking in ways that obstruct traffic.

Visitors will also be encouraged to keep the area clean, safeguard their personal belongings and follow instructions while visiting the market.

Businesses, organizations, individuals and household businesses participating in the market must operate within their designated locations, areas and product categories. They must ensure goods have clear origins, display and charge the listed prices, and refrain from soliciting customers or overcharging.

Participants must also comply with regulations on commercial conduct, food safety, electrical safety, fire prevention and firefighting, and environmental sanitation. Inspections and supervision will continue throughout the market, particularly during peak days and hours.
