AstraZeneca Vietnam requests revocation of pharmaceutical business certificate to transition warehouse infrastructure

AstraZeneca Vietnam is headquartered on the 18th floor of the A&B Building at 76 Le Lai Street in Ben Thanh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City, and has a business location at 198 Hoang Van Thu Street in Duc Nhuan Ward, Ho Chi Minh City.

Its licensed business activities include the import and export of medicines.

According to the ministry’s decision, AstraZeneca Vietnam submitted documents requesting the revocation of its pharmaceutical business certificate and two certificates for Good Storage Practices (GSP) for medicines and pharmaceutical ingredients due to changes in its business plans and strategy.

The decision renders three previous decisions invalid. These include a Ministry of Health decision granting AstraZeneca Vietnam its certificate of eligibility for pharmaceutical business, as well as two Drug Administration of Vietnam decisions granting the company GSP certificates.

AstraZeneca Vietnam said it had planned to move some of its operations from older warehouses to newer, more modern facilities to support its growth and expansion.

As the company no longer needed to operate the old warehouses that had been certified by the Ministry of Health, it asked the ministry to revoke the pharmaceutical business certificate associated covering those facilities in accordance with regulations.

AstraZeneca Vietnam said the ministry approved its request and that the revocation would not affect its pharmaceutical business operations at its other locations with valid certificates of eligibility for pharmaceutical business.
