Rainfall exceeded 300 mm in multiple areas, with Hoa Thuong recording 345 mm and Tan Long 327 mm, while parts of Song Cau neared 300 mm.
Numerous streets turned into rivers.
In urban wards, flood levels ranged from one to two meters.

On Minh Cau Street water reached neck height, while in Thinh Dan Ward, floodwaters swept away a car and inundated residential zones.
At Thai Nguyen National Hospital, corridors and patient rooms were flooded.
Medical staff waded through waist-height water to move patients to higher ground, according to social media footage.

Some schools suspended in‑person classes for the day, switching to online learning as roads became impassable.
In Vo Nhai Commune, some residents appealed online for evacuation assistance.

Local police and military units began evacuations in low‑lying neighborhoods, particularly in Quan Trieu and along Viet Bac Street.
Thai Nguyen Province mobilized hundreds of officers to assist flood operations, including reinforcing embankments along the Cau River.
Police units deployed special response teams to monitor for landslides and enforce road closures in flood zones.

According to the provincial hydrology agency, gauge readings at 6:30 am showed critical levels.
Thac Rieng’s water stood at 100.13 m, 1.63 m above the highest warning threshold; Cho Moi registered 57.37 m, 0.37 m above the second-highest alarm; Gia Bay stood at 26.96 m; and Cha reached 6.60 m, 1.40 m below the lowest warning threshold, but it was continuing to rise.
