The municipal People’s Committee announced the newly approved list under current housing regulations, allowing lawful foreign entrants and foreign organizations operating in Vietnam to purchase homes in designated projects that meet legal requirements.
This marks the fourth time the city has published such a list.
According to a real estate expert, all five projects are commercial housing developments located outside areas requiring national defense and security protection.
They fully comply with Vietnam’s Housing Law and related regulations, making them eligible for foreign ownership.
With this latest announcement, the total number of residential projects in Ho Chi Minh City where foreigners are permitted to own homes has increased to 93.
City officials said the move helps clearly define the scope of eligible projects, providing a legal basis for regulators, developers, and homebuyers to comply with regulations while enhancing transparency in the local property market.
As per prevailing regulations, foreign individuals legally entering Vietnam and foreign organizations operating in the country may purchase and own homes in projects included on the published list.
However, ownership is subject to strict limits.
Foreign buyers may own no more than 30 percent of the apartments in a single condominium building, or no more than 250 individual houses within a ward-level administrative unit.
The municipal administration has tasked relevant departments and agencies with monitoring and managing transactions to ensure that foreign home purchases and ownership are conducted for proper purposes, by eligible buyers, and without affecting local security or public order.
The five newly approved projects include the Saigon Binh An Urban Area, developed by Saigon Investment and Development JSC. The project is located on Do Xuan Hop Street in Binh Trung Ward, covering more than 1.17 million square meters.
Another project is Tan An Condominiums, also known as Tecco Luxury, developed by Tecco Southern JSC. It is located in Thuan An and Thuan Giao Wards, with a land area of about 6,690 square meters.
The third project is a high-rise condominium complex by Khang Viet National Housing Development JSC, located in Long Truong Ward, with a land area of more than 18,333 square meters.
The list also includes a mixed-use office and residential complex developed by Metro Star Investment JSC at 360 Vo Nguyen Giap Street in Phuoc Long Ward. The project covers approximately 18,335 square meters.
The fifth project is the Tam Luc Residential Area, developed by Tam Luc Real Estate JSC. It is located on Mai Chi Tho Street in Binh Trung Ward and has a land area of nearly 37,700 square meters.
