The Department of Construction has noted that V-Green should consider integrating charging equipment into existing public lighting poles as the installation of EV charging stations may affect the daily activities and businesses of nearby residents.
V-Green was asked to coordinate with the Voluntary Youth Public Benefit Service Company Limited to identify suitable locations and complete the necessary documentation.
For 28 other locations, V-Green will work with the Voluntary Youth Public Benefit Service Company Limited and the Road Traffic Infrastructure Management Center in Ho Chi Minh City to review demand and propose specific sites along various routes.
This will serve as a basis for the Department of Construction to consider and approve implementation in the near future.
Earlier, at a meeting regarding V-Green’s proposal on establishing a dedicated mechanism for deploying EV charging infrastructure at public locations, chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Nguyen Van Duoc ordered that public land be prioritized for developing EV charging stations.
The city acknowledged the proposed collaboration between V-Green and the Voluntary Youth Public Benefit Service Company Limited to use public parking lots for integrated EV charging stations.
Both parties have been encouraged to work together directly, finalize their proposals, and submit them for official review.
Chairman Duoc called on Vingroup to continue supporting the city's broader goals for a green energy transition, especially efforts to reduce carbon and methane emissions in the transportation sector.
The chairman also assigned the Department of Construction to review and revise the city's master plan to support green transportation, including the rollout of EV charging stations and clean fuel supply points.
The plan will prioritize available public land while ensuring safety, visual appeal, and efficient land use.
The department will also develop land use models for the stations, including leasing land through public auctions.
