The project, managed by the city’s Urban Infrastructure Construction Investment Management Board, is scheduled for implementation from 2026 to 2029 in Dong Thanh and Binh My Communes.
The system will help regulate water levels and reduce flooding across 37,162 hectares, covering communes including Dong Thanh, Binh My, Hoc Mon, Phu Hoa Dong, Cu Chi, Xuan Thoi Son, Ba Diem, Vinh Loc, Tan Vinh Loc, and Binh Loi.
The project includes an 80-meter-wide sluice gate operated by hydraulic cylinders, a 15-meter-wide navigation lock, and an operations facility of about 300 square meters.
Authorities said it is also expected to increase water storage in canals, support irrigation during the dry season, and reduce pollution in the Hoc Mon–north Binh Chanh irrigation system and the Tham Luong–Ben Cat–Nuoc Len canal network.
