These teams have been sent to workplaces and residential areas where foreigners are employed or housed.
The goal is to provide on-site support for digital ID registration in addition to existing services at the office’s three fixed locations, said the Immigration Office, operating under the city's Department of Public Security.
The initiative has already seen cooperation from companies and institutions such as My Phuoc Industrial Park, Pouyuen Vietnam Co., Ltd., the Vietnam Australia International School, Kim Huy Industrial Park, and Thuan Giao Residential Area.
So far, over 1,000 foreigners have received support in completing their applications through this program.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Manh Truong of the Immigration Office called the effort a key political mission.
“Issuing digital IDs to foreigners not only aids management but also reflects the friendly and modern image of the police force, contributing to building the city into a safe, civilized, and globally integrated hub,” he said.
Truong explained that digital ID accounts also link to national databases on residence, civil status, insurance, banking, taxation, and healthcare, simplifying everyday procedures.
“For foreigners, having a digital ID account makes administrative, commercial, and financial transactions in Vietnam more convenient without relying on traditional paper documents. This helps reduce procedures, save time, and cut costs,” he said.
As part of a 50-day campaign launched on July 1 to accelerate issuance, the office has been processing applications daily from 7:30 am to 9:00 pm, excluding weekends and public holidays.
So far, nearly 15,000 foreigners in the city have registered for digital IDs under the campaign.
In addition to its mobile teams, the Immigration Office continues to accept applications at three fixed sites: 196 Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street, Xuan Hoa Ward; 239 Ngo Gia Tu Street, Thu Dau Mot Ward; and 120 Pham Hung Street, Ba Ria Ward.
