Under the program, passengers using e-wallets including VNPT Money, Viettel Money, ShopeePay, and ZaloPay will receive a full fare discount on Fridays from February through December, with a limit of four trips per person per day.
The initiative is part of a broader push by the city’s construction department to promote cashless payments in public transport, with the transport center coordinating with e-wallet providers to roll out fare incentives throughout 2026.
Additional promotions will include free bus rides during major public holidays such as Vietnam’s Reunification Day (April 30), International Workers’ Day (May 1), National Day (September 2), New Year’s Day, and other key political and social events, the center said.
City officials said the program is meant to encourage digital payments while promoting bus travel as a convenient and environmentally friendly transport option for urban residents.
