Tran Gia Huy, from Ninh Thuan Province, was detained under an emergency arrest warrant on suspicion of “causing public disorder,” according to the city’s investigative police agency.
The incident occurred at around 8:10 pm on Saturday at a bar on Bui Vien Street in Pham Ngu Lao Ward, District 1, a busy nightlife area popular with tourists.

The altercation reportedly began when A.K.N., a 38-year-old South African man, argued with a 27-year-old employee of the bar.
The bar’s German owner, F.J., 29, then became involved, escalating the confrontation.

Police said three bar staff — including Huy, the 27-year-old employee, and another 19-year-old from Ninh Thuan — allegedly assaulted A.K.N. during the incident.
Huy is accused of striking the victim on the head with a beer bottle.
All individuals involved were brought in for questioning, police said.
