The seized items included drugs, millions of plastic zip bags, and tens of thousands of tools used for drug consumption and packaging.
Ho Chi Minh City police said on Tuesday that the 30 suspects were arrested for investigations into the offenses of organizing illegal drug use, illegal drug trafficking, possession of illegal drugs, trading in equipment used for drug consumption, and illegal drug use.
The case began on June 8, when police in Dong Thanh Commune, Ho Chi Minh City detected two individuals organizing illicit drug use at a hotel in the area.

Further investigation revealed a network of suspects involved in large-scale drug trafficking with inter-provincial and complex operations, prompting police to establish a special task force in coordination with the municipal drug crime investigation unit.
Besides the detention of 30 suspects, police seized nearly one kilogram of methamphetamine and 5.5 liters of liquid containing drugs.

Police also confiscated 12,030 drug-use tools such as glass pipes, bongs, and related equipment; 550 kilograms of plastic bags, equivalent to more than five million zip bags used for packaging and distributing drugs; 502 items used for drug packaging; 48 precision scales; as well as other related objects and assets.
The case remains under expanded investigation by the municipal drug crime police unit and Dong Thanh Commune police.
