Ho Chi Minh City puts remaining part of new bridge into use

Ho Chi Minh City authorities inaugurated the second branch of the Bung Bridge project, which cost VND515 billion (US$21.3 million), to connect Binh Tan District and Tan Phu District on Sunday afternoon after five years of construction.

The bridge is built to replace the existing one spanning over the Tham Luong canal that is seriously degraded, often causing traffic congestion in the northwest area of Ho Chi Minh City.

The bridge also creates a favorable premise for developing the Tham Luong canal - Ben Cat - Nuoc Len canal route, thereby helping to synchronize road and waterway traffic, according to Cuong.
