The Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee has decided to reclaim 821 square meters of land on Le Thanh Ton Street in District 1 lent to the Ben Thanh - Norfolk Hotel Company nearly 30 years ago.
In particular, the city will reclaim the land at 117, 119, 121, and 123 Le Thanh Ton Street in Ben Nghe Ward, District 1 that Ben Thanh - Norfolk Hotel Company leased from August 1995.
The Norfolk Hotel was the first joint venture hotel between Vietnam and Australia.
The Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee asked the People’s Committee of Ben Nghe Ward to send the decision to Ben Thanh - Norfolk Hotel Company.
If the company’s representative is absent from the hotel or refuses to receive the decision, the ward will take note and bring the decision to the ward’s headquarters.
Ben Thanh - Norfolk Hotel Company must fulfill its land-related financial obligations during the land lease period and hand over the land lot to the Ho Chi Minh City Land Fund Development Center for management.
The four-star Norfolk Hotel first opened in 1991.
There is another Norfolk Hotel on Ly Tu Trong Street in District 1.
