At the former Saigon Tax Trade Center site on Nguyen Hue Street, crowds gathered to download the TNGo-HCM app, scan QR codes, and unlock the e-bikes for short trips around the city center.
Many users said the bikes were smooth, easy to control, and well-suited for sightseeing or short commutes.
The e-bikes feature modern functions such as battery level displays, wireless charging, and helmet pickup instructions via the app.
Riders receive an audio alert when their free usage time is nearly up, reminding them to return the bike on time.

Vo Thi Thu Hang, who has used public transport systems abroad, said she was delighted to see Ho Chi Minh City adopting e-bikes.
“This is a friendly solution that protects the environment and gives people more choices for urban travel,” she said.

Nguyen Hoai Phong, another rider, praised the simplicity of unlocking and operating the bikes.
Phong said that the service is accessible even for older users and suggested expanding the model citywide to provide affordable, eco-friendly transport.

From March 15 to March 31, residents and visitors can experience the service at the former Saigon Tax Trade Center site.
The initiative is expected to diversify urban transport, connect with other public transit options, and encourage green commuting habits.
After the free trial period, the service operator plans to charge VND10,000 (US$0.38) for 15 minutes, VND20,000 ($0.76) for 30 minutes, VND35,000 ($1.33) for 60 minutes, VND60,000 ($2.28) for 120 minutes, and VND110,000 ($4.18) for 240 minutes.
