From November 9 to Dececember 31, Saigontourist Travel Service Company said it will handle nine international cruise ships carrying more than 25,000 passengers of various nationalities.

The company expects to serve about 75,000 cruise passengers nationwide this year on itineraries covering Ho Chi Minh City and destinations including Hue, Da Nang, Nha Trang and Ha Long.

Two Celebrity Cruises vessels, the Millennium and Solstice, are due to dock at Phu My Port in Ho Chi Minh City on Sunday and Monday with more than 5,000 passengers from the United States, Canada, Britain and Australia.

Phan Xuan Anh, chairman of cruise operator Du Ngoan Viet, said luxury cruise arrivals have risen sharply this month, with most ships docking at Saigon or Hiep Phuoc ports.

"Cruise tourism recovered quickly last year and is accelerating in 2025, with growth estimated to double from a year earlier," he said.

The city's tourism department said ship schedules have normalised after disruptions in October.

Ho Chi Minh City received about 705,000 foreign visitors in October, bringing the 10-month total to 6.6 million, or roughly two-thirds of its full-year target.

Tourism revenue for the first 10 months was estimated at VND208 trillion (US$7.9 billion), about 72 percent of the city's annual goal.
