Under the plan announced this week, city agencies have been instructed to closely monitor market trends, collect and analyze information, and detect early signs of violations.

Authorities will pay special attention to high-risk categories such as milk, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, dietary supplements, and other essential consumer goods often sold on TikTok, Facebook, and live-stream platforms.

Authorities will also focus on products linked to geographical indications and protected trademarks.

The Department of Industry and Trade will lead the campaign, while the city’s Market Surveillance Department will track and penalize violators.

Live-stream sales and online marketplaces will be subject to strict oversight, with authorities monitoring logistics and distribution channels.

Police will target websites with large traffic that distribute pirated films, music, video games, and illegal streaming services.

The campaign runs until the end of 2026, after which agencies will continue evaluations and strengthen enforcement.

In related news, the municipal People’s Committee has formed a special task force led by its chairman Nguyen Van Duoc and vice-chairman Nguyen Manh Cuong to coordinate the fight against intellectual property violations.

Other members include senior officials from the city police department, People’s Court, People’s Procuracy, and departments overseeing trade, culture, science, and finance.
