Ho Chi Minh City to close Saigon River Tunnel for fire drill on 3 days this week

The municipal Department of Construction has approved a traffic reorganization plan to support the drill for handling fire emergencies and rescue operations in the Saigon River Tunnel.

The plan, proposed by the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Traffic Management Center, includes adjustments to traffic flow along Vo Van Kiet and Mai Chi Tho Avenues, specifically in the section between Ky Con Street and To Huu Street.

In particular, all vehicle traffic through the Saigon River Tunnel in both directions will be prohibited during the above-mentioned time on the three designated days.

Alternative routes:

- From Sai Gon Ward to An Khanh Ward: Vo Van Kiet Avenue → a road parallel with Vo Van Kiet → Vo Van Kiet → Ton Duc Thang Street → Ba Son Bridge → R12 Street → To Huu Street → Mai Chi Tho Avenue.

- From An Khanh Ward to Sai Gon Ward: Mai Chi Tho → To Huu Street → R12 Street → Ba Son Bridge → Le Duan Boulevard → Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street → Vo Van Kiet.

The Department of Construction has instructed the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Traffic Management Center to install banners and notices to inform the public and help them choose appropriate routes during the fire and rescue drill in the Saigon River Tunnel.
