Ho Chi Minh City to deploy tourism security officers in key destinations

The city has approved a plan to assign the Ho Chi Minh City youth volunteer force to coordinate with the Department of Tourism to deploy the force.

The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has tasked the Department of Tourism with coordinating with the Ho Chi Minh City youth volunteer force, Ho Chi Minh City police, and the People's Committees of wards, communes, and special administrative zones, including Vung Tau, Tam Thang, Long Hai, Ho Tram, and Con Dao, as well as relevant agencies, to review and identify specific key tourism attractions where tourism security officers should be stationed.

The Ho Chi Minh City youth volunteer force will take charge of arranging and deploying tourism security officers, ensuring sufficient personnel, appropriate qualifications, and working hours based on actual needs in approved areas.

The force will also coordinate with Ho Chi Minh City police, local authorities, and relevant agencies to conduct patrols, assist tourists, and detect and handle violations, or refer them to competent authorities.

The Department of Finance will provide guidance for the Ho Chi Minh City youth volunteer force and relevant agencies on the management, use, and settlement of funds.

It will also advise competent authorities on allocating funding subject to budget availability and applicable regulations.

The People's Committees of wards, communes, and special administrative zones, including Vung Tau, Tam Thang, Long Hai, Ho Tram, and Con Dao, are responsible for coordinating with relevant agencies and facilitating the deployment of tourism security officers, promptly providing information, and supporting the handling of arising situations to ensure tourist safety.
