The municipal administration has issued an implementation plan for the park expansion, following the prime minister's approval to add a science and technology park to the development.
Under the plan, the city will simultaneously carry out land acquisition, infrastructure construction, investment promotion, high-tech industry development, state management reforms and innovation ecosystem building in the new area, which will cover 194.84 hectares in Long Phuoc Ward.
The initiative is intended to develop a center for research and development in high-tech and strategic technologies while supporting technology incubation, talent development, technology transfer and commercialization.
The city looks to transform the Saigon Hi-Tech Park into a leading hub for innovation and advanced technology in Southeast Asia.
The southern metropolis will accelerate investment preparation, land acquisition, compensation, site clearance, and legal procedures to ensure the project remains on schedule.
Infrastructure in the expanded zone will be developed to modern, smart, and environmentally friendly standards, supporting the city's goal of achieving carbon neutrality before 2050 while maximizing the efficient use of investment resources.
Among the project's priorities, the city will formulate policies to attract investment in high-tech industries, strategic technologies, and highly skilled talent.
Authorities will also prepare detailed zoning plans for the expanded area.
The city also plans to establish dedicated programs to attract research and development projects, strategic technology initiatives and pilot manufacturing facilities for advanced technologies.
The expansion will include an innovation hub, a strategic technology research center, business incubators and training facilities for high-quality human resources.
A steering committee led by city leaders will oversee the expansion.
The Saigon Hi-Tech Park management authority will act as the standing agency, coordinating with departments and local authorities.
The Department of Finance will arrange funding for infrastructure.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment will handle land recovery and resettlement.
The Department of Planning and Architecture will guide the preparation of zoning plans.
The administration of Long Phuoc Ward will manage compensation, resettlement, and public outreach to encourage affected residents to hand over land for the project.
