Early this morning, Ho Chi Minh City saw sunshine but remained mild and slightly cold, with morning temperatures continuing to fall from the same time a day earlier.

According to the Southern Regional Hydrometeorological Center, southern Vietnam remains on the southern fringe of the cold air mass, which is gradually spreading cooler air further south.

Weather conditions in Ho Chi Minh City and across the southern region are expected to remain stable, with little rain.

Light fog may appear in some areas in the early morning, followed by sunny conditions during the day.

Nighttime low temperatures are forecast to drop by a further 2-3 degrees Celsius, leading to cooler nights and early mornings.

At 7:00 am on Thursday, temperatures released by the National Center for Hydrometeorological Forecasting were recorded at 20 degrees Celsius in Binh Duong (now part of Ho Chi Minh City), 21 degrees Celsius in the city's urban area, and 21 degrees Celsius in Bien Hoa in Dong Nai Province.

Data from the Southern Regional Hydrometeorological Station showed lower readings in other areas.

Dong Nai Province recorded temperatures of 18 degrees Celsius in Phuoc Long and 17.4 degrees Celsius in Ta Lai; while Lam Dong Province saw 14 degrees Celsius in Bao Loc, 12.7 degrees Celsius in Lien Khuong, 10.5 degrees Celsius in Da Lat, and 21 degrees Celsius in Phan Thiet.

Provinces in the Mekong Delta ranged from 21 to 23 degrees Celsius.

Mobile weather applications forecast that temperatures may continue to fall in the coming days, with some days possibly seeing lows of around 16°C.

At sea, strong northeast winds are affecting coastal waters.

From Lam Dong to Ca Mau Provinces, winds are reaching level 6-7, with gusts of level 8-9, and waves measuring 3-6 meters, causing very rough seas.

In waters from Ca Mau to An Giang Provinces, winds are at level 4-5 with gusts of level 6-7, wave heights of 1-2.5 meters, and slightly rough conditions.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are also possible in some areas, with a risk of whirlwinds.
