Truong Thi Minh Dung, chairwoman of the Cau Ong Lanh Ward People's Committee, said the ward spans 1.6 square kilometers and is home to nearly 80,000 residents.

Its central location offers strong advantages for developing commerce and services.

Currently, the ward hosts close to 3,000 individual business households, around 3,200 active companies, and two cooperatives.

Most businesses operate in accommodation, food and beverages, retail and wholesale, banking, finance, and related service sectors.

The area also includes the Now Zone shopping mall, the Russian Market, and about 30 convenience stores.

At a recent event to launch a committee for establishing the Cau Ong Lanh Ward business association and to host a 2025 business networking conference, several business representatives raised concerns about persistent tourist harassment.

They noted that such incidents negatively impact the business environment and the ward's reputation.

In response, Cau Ong Lanh Ward police said they have stepped up patrols and established checkpoints in crowded and high-risk areas, particularly at night and during peak times.

Officers are also relying on the ward's surveillance network to identify and address violations, especially those involving tourists.

Local police have been directed to review existing camera placements and determine where more surveillance is needed to improve coverage.

Ward leaders emphasized that the new business association will serve as a platform to connect local authorities and the business community.

It is intended to foster collaboration, share experience, protect member interests, and promote overall business growth.

The association will also act as a bridge between local enterprises and the government, helping to resolve challenges, promote dialogue, and contribute to the ward's goal of building a 'new identity and new image.'

Officials said the ward administration is committed to listening to the business community's concerns and providing timely support to help resolve production and operational difficulties.

The initiative is also aimed at fostering a cooperative and engaged relationship between local authorities and businesses.
