Based on feedback from global travelers, the annual awards recognize destinations and travel partners that consistently deliver outstanding hospitality and service, according to Booking.com.
According to the online travel platform, Hoi An topped the list of Vietnam’s 10 most welcoming destinations this year.
It was followed by Mai Chau in northern Hoa Binh Province and Cu Lao Thu, also known as Phu Quy Island, in Lam Dong Province.
Other destinations in the top 10 include Ninh Binh, Ha Giang, Con Dao, Phong Nha, Da Lat, Phu Quoc, and Cao Bang.
Branavan Aruljothi, country director of Booking.com in Vietnam, said a destination is defined not only by its natural landscapes and cultural heritage but also by the sincerity of its people.
He noted that hosts preserving historic houses in Hoi An, along with local communities in Ha Giang and Mai Chau who warmly welcome visitors into their daily lives, create the experiences travelers remember long after their journeys have ended.
According to Booking.com, Vietnamese destinations on this year’s list highlight the diversity of the country’s tourism landscape, ranging from historic towns and tranquil mountain retreats to sun-soaked coastlines, all united by a strong spirit of hospitality that leaves a lasting impression on visitors.
On a global scale, the world’s most welcoming destinations recognized this year include Montepulciano in Italy in first place, followed by Magong in Taiwan, San Martin de los Andes in Argentina, Harrogate in the United Kingdom, and Fredericksburg in the United States.
