Tourism operators across the city are launching special programs for the long weekend, which marks the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's independence.
At My Khanh Ecotourism Village in An Binh Ward, visitors can immerse themselves in the culture of the Mekong region with fruit-picking, exploring a 100-year-old southern-style house, and taking part in countryside games like mud fishing, rowing, and pig and dog races.
One of the highlights is the 'One Day as a Landlord' experience, where guests dress in vintage attire and take photos inside a restored colonial home.
"The most anticipated activity this holiday is a night cruise aboard the My Khanh Royal to watch fireworks on the Hau River," said Nguyen Huu Hoang, deputy director of the tourism village.
The cruise includes a fruit buffet and panoramic views of the fireworks show on the evening of September 2.
Nearby, Ong De Ecotourism Village will host its annual Folk Cake Festival from August 30 to September 2.
Guests can sample dozens of traditional southern Vietnamese cakes and join hands-on workshops with local artisans.

At Cantho Eco Resort in Nhon Ai Commune, visitors can tour fruit orchards, taste fresh produce straight from the garden, visit the Eco Safari with over 30 animal species, and try their hand at pottery in the on-site clay studio.
The resort is also offering promotional vouchers for dining with overnight bookings during the holiday period.
Beyond organized attractions, Can Tho's iconic sites remain must-sees.
These include Ninh Kieu Wharf, the Hung Kings Temple, and the historic Binh Thuy Ancient House.
To mark National Day, the city will stage fireworks at three locations on the night of September 2: a high-altitude display at Tay Do Park in Hung Phu Ward, and low-altitude shows at Xa No Park in Vi Tan Ward and the 5A Urban Area in Phu Loi Ward.
All shows run from 9:30 pm to 9:45 pm.
Also on September 2, Can Tho Stadium will host the third round of the Caltex Havoline Cub Prix 2025, Vietnam's national motorbike racing championship, beginning at 2:00 pm.
